This post is sponsored by Dinosaur World, Glen Rose, Texas. Dinosaur World provided us with tickets for a one-day visit. I am writing a review based on my visit and all opinions are my own.
The kids were super excited to get to Dinosaur World, Glen Rose, Texas! It was about a 75 mile drive for us but it went by quickly as all were thrilled that their ride in the car meant they were going on an adventure! When we arrived at the museum, we were greeted by three lovely ladies who were thrilled to have us there. They were all very friendly and interacted with the children, answering all their questions and matching their enthusiasm.
We were given an introduction to the activities we were going to participate in that day. Then, we headed out!
Quest #1: Walking Among the Dinosaurs!
Our youngest is a detail oriented child, so the walk around the trail of dinosaurs was his favorite part of the day! He wanted to name every single dinosaur and he knew exactly which one was his favorite! (pictured here below!)
The walk takes about 30 minutes or so but it really can be taken at your own pace. All the kids enjoyed the walk and had a great time learning about the different dinosaurs. It was fun to listen to them try to pronounce the many names.
There is a pronunciation guide on each sign!
Quest #2 Dig for Fossils!
Sift through sand at the Fossil Dig and find authentic fossils to take home.
The fossils below are some of the actual fossils our kids found! Each participant has to choose just three to take home. They found many more and then chose their three favorite.
Quest #3 Visit the indoor museum!
This was a great way to cool off from the hot sun for a little while. They have really amazing fossils to look at here!
Quest #4: Lunch!
For lunch, enjoy any of the three picnic table areas. All are covered to provide shade! We brought our ice chest and sandwiches and snacks on in and enjoyed eating in the covered picnic area in the bone-yard sand box area! The kids loved digging up dinosaur bones during our lunch time!
Quest #5 Panning for Gems!
The Lucky Strike Ticket could be used anytime during our visit. We chose to do that after lunch, at the end of our visit. In hindsight…I fully recommend doing this early in the day! (It was very hot panning in the afternoon sun!) The kids enjoyed this activity very much! They all wanted to purchase another of cool rocks and gems!
Quest #6 Take home our gems and fossils and study them!
We will take these home and identify them with the identification card provided by Dinosaur World!
Quest #7 Shop in the great gift store!
We found discounted dinosaur toys and awesome excavation kits perfect for our kids! Loved the t-shirts too!
